On November 5, 2020, under the guidance of the High Technology Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the High Technology Research and Development Center, and hosted by the China Intelligent Transportation Association,the 15th China Intelligent Transportation annual conference with the theme of its innovation and integrated development in the new infrastructure period opened in Shenzhen. At the meeting, Professor Wang Wei, a professor at the School of Transportation of Southeast University and administrator of the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Urban Intelligent Transportation Technology, was awarded 2020 China Intelligent Transportation Person of the Year in recognition of his outstanding achievements and great contributions in the field of intelligent transportation.
China Intelligent Transportation Association is a national organization jointly initiated and established by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The China Intelligent Transportation Annual Conference hosted by the association is one of the largest, widest, and most influential comprehensive industry exchange activities in the field of intelligent transportation in China. Since 2015, the annual meeting holds annual selection of China's intelligent transportation person of the year, aiming to recognize and encourage outstanding pioneers and cultivators in the field of intelligent transportation in China. There are currently 5 outstanding contributors to the development of intelligent transportation in China won this honor.
