The Chinese-European Workshop on Functional Pavement has become an important international academic conference in road engineering field. The CEW was funded by Southeast University and RWTH Aachen University, aiming to promote the multi-functional and sustainable development of the pavements.
The conference is held every two years. The first meeting was held in Southeast University in September 2010, and this is the sixth meeting. More than 200 experts and scholars from China, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, South Africa and other countries joined the CEW.
The 6th Chinese-European Workshop on Functional Pavement consists of the fellow’s forum, the invited keynote speeches, three invited special sessions and three parallel sessions. The first day of the meeting has a full day meeting, the meetings from the 19th to the 21st are half-day meetings due to the impact of Covid-19 and the time difference. During the meeting, live in-depth discussions on the recent cutting-edge researches in road engineering field, including the vehicle-pavement interaction, pavement surface characteristics, multiscale and multiphysics simulation of pavements, multi-functional and sustainable development of pavements, digital twin, smart pavements and intelligent construction of pavements, will be delivered online.
