On December 8th to 10th, School of Transportation accompanied by Tongji University and Highway Science Research Center of Ministry of Transport held a grand ceremony for the 6th Research Youth Forum on Highway and Airport Engineering in Jiulonghu Campus of Southeast University. Over 150 young scholars from 36 universities and scientific research institutes attending the forum.
Associate Dean of the school Gu Xingyu hosted the forum. At the beginning, Professor Liu Pan, Dean of School of Transportation, delivered the welcoming speech for all the young scholars in the field of Highway and Airport Engineering and introduced the overall situation of School of Transportation. Then Professor Huang Xiaoming, Chair of Highway Subject, reviewed the development history of Highway Subject and the duty undertaken by highway workers and earnestly expected the young should shoulder the mission of the times.
Young researchers from Highway Science Research Center of Ministry of Transport, Tongji University, South China University of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Changsha University of Science and Technology, Chongqing Jiaotong University, Chang’an University and Southeast University were invited to deliver keynote speeches. There were 48 young scholars from those universities and research institutes mentioned above reported research achievements based on their research experience. Moreover, this youth forum was plentiful and harmonious and provided the platform for peers to conduct further communication.
Exchange, Cooperation, Sharing and Innovation, theme of this forum, was realized and the academic exchange among young scholars in the field of Highway and Airport Engineering went further, besides which the cooperation and exhibition of scientific and technological innovation in Highway and Airport Engineering was also promoted. The organizer is Chang’an University after research decision made by organizing committee.
