From July 7 to August 19, 18 undergraduates from school of transportation arrived at University of Minnesota for exchange study, under the guidance of Professor Wang Wei and Luo Lei. They have received a warm welcome from the University’s China Center, the Center of Transition Study and Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
In this summer program, freshman and sophomore undergraduates participated in the specialized courses and lively visiting practice offered by University of Minnesota, and gained colorful cultural exchange experiences through various activities. The program contains GIS tool learning and application, onsite visit for understanding urban planning concepts of American cities, discussions for traffic problems, visiting 3M Company’s Innovation Center and etc., all of which have received high remarks from our students and teachers. The course involves four basic specialized courses and extracurricular activities covering English immersion, application of GIS, concept of urban planning, introduction of traffic planning, and process of land utilization.
